On behalf of the Diocese of Portland, I join communities across the country in mourning the deaths resulting from the mass shooting in Las Vegas. This is an unspeakable tragedy. We are shocked by the loss of life and the great number of wounded. We pray for those who have died. We offer our support and our prayers to the families and friends who have lost loved ones. We pray for God’s peace and comfort for all those who grieve. We also pray for those injured and offer our sincere thanks for the heroism displayed by all public safety personnel who responded.   May the souls of the innocent lost and all souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
